We had Pioneer Woman’s chicken pot pie this past Sunday night. I used the recipe on the Food Network website. i saw Pioneer Woman make this on an episode where she was stocking her freezer. The idea of stocking the nest for cold days ahead appealed to me.
This pie would really hit the spot some cold, November night. As it turned out, Sunday was a hot sunny day. We just closed the blinds and took our bowls to the air-conditioned living room.
It fell apart when we cut into the flaky crust, and revealed a thyme-scented creamy chicken stew. A bit of white wine gave it depth, like a Marsala favor. It was delish.
